In this special message, Matthew Torp explores how our attention is constantly being shaped by the worries, responsibilities, technology, and distractions of everyday life—and why hearing God’s Word is not always the same as truly listening and responding to it. Through passages including Romans 8, Romans 12, Galatians 5, Luke 10, and Ephesians 2, we are encouraged to bring our distracted and anxious minds under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Rather than trying to empty our minds or achieve perfect focus, we are called to allow God’s Word to renew our thinking, redirect our attention toward Christ, and lead us into faithful obedience. At the heart of the message is the truth of Ephesians 2:18: through Christ, in one Spirit, we have access to the Father. The goal is not simply greater calm or concentration, but deeper fellowship with God that increasingly shapes the way we think, respond, trust, and live. Mind, submit to the Spirit. Holy Spirit, lead me through Christ to the Father. Father, help me receive Your Word and obey.
