Going Low, Going Deep, and Going Out

In this message, “Going Low, Going Deep, and Going Out,” Pastor Tim Miller calls the church to build on the solid foundation of Christ by not only hearing His words but putting them into practice (Matthew 7:24–25). As we move forward this year marked by love, diligence, faithfulness, and wisdom, we are challenged to respond to the storm by building on the Rock. Drawing from the example of Count Zinzendorf and the Moravians at Herrnhut, this sermon outlines three clear calls: Going Low — Embracing humility, unity, and servant-hearted leadership as taught by Jesus, Paul, and Peter. In a culture filled with pride and “manufactured outrage,” we are called to clothe ourselves with humility, prioritize the gospel, and pursue oneness in Christ through practical obedience in our church life and ministry. Going Deep — Becoming a people marked by prayer, fellowship, and spiritual depth. Through constant prayer, small groups, corporate gatherings, and faithful stewardship of our gifts, we seek to love the Word, love prayer, and love one another. Going Out — Letting our light shine in Minnesota and beyond. With God’s heart for the poor, the vulnerable, and the foreigner, we are called to compassionate witness in everyday life and intentional outreach, trusting that the Lord has positioned His church for such a time as this. As we continue our study in Matthew, we will focus on Jesus’ teaching on prayer, humility, compassion, and outreach, building a church that stands firm when the storm comes.
