In this message, Pastor Tim Miller opens Grace Gospel’s new sermon series through the Gospel of Matthew, where our church’s very vision finds its roots: to be and make disciples of Jesus who follow Him faithfully. Matthew’s Gospel stands out as the most “Jewish” of the four, yet also the most widely used in the early church, containing the Lord’s Prayer, the Sermon on the Mount, and the very word “church” itself. Written to reveal Jesus as the promised Messiah and teacher greater than Moses, Matthew presents both the richness of God’s Old Testament promises and their fulfillment in Christ. Pastor Tim invites us to approach this journey through Matthew with three heart postures: Come Hungry: Feast on the deep truths and teachings of Jesus, old treasures and new revealed to those who truly listen and seek understanding. Come Humble: Let the Word confront and shape us, even when it challenges our expectations. Like John the Baptist and Peter, may we learn to receive Jesus’ words without offense, trusting His wisdom over our own. Come Hopeful: Though the path of discipleship is narrow and often costly, it leads to resurrection life. Matthew ends with a radiant promise, the righteous will shine like the sun in the Father’s kingdom. Join us as we begin this powerful series and accept the Lord’s invitation to come hungry for His truth, humble before His voice, and hopeful in His eternal promises.
