Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted Because of Righteousness (Part 2)

In Part 2 of “Blessed Are Those Who Are Persecuted Because of Righteousness,” Tim Miller continues through the eighth Beatitude in Matthew 5:10–12, where Jesus connects the persecution of His followers with the persecution of the prophets who came before them. This message examines the biblical calling of the prophets and the opposition they often faced, with a closer look at Jeremiah—called by God to faithfully speak His words even when those words brought rejection, threats, and suffering. The sermon then turns to Jesus’ followers, including Stephen, showing the high calling of representing a crucified Messiah and remaining faithful through persecution. Through passages from Matthew, Jeremiah, Acts, James, and Revelation, we are reminded to patiently stand firm, persevere under trial, and remain faithful even in suffering, looking ahead to the reward God has promised to those who endure.
